Multifaceted artist Elissa May Murphy has devoted her career to living a full-fledged freelance lifestyle in Rochester’s inimitable Neighborhood of the Arts.
As a musician, educator, writer and entrepreneur, her recent projects include woodwind doubling for Blackfriars Theatre (Avenue Q, A Chorus Line, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Guys and Dolls), and JCC CenterStage (Indecent), and holds private lessons out of her home studio for flutists, clarinetists, and saxophonists of all proficiencies.
Elissa is thrilled to begin her graduate studies at the Eastman School of Music while continuing to substitute teach at The Aquinas Institute of Rochester. When not performing and teaching, she’s hitting the road as a righthand woman for indie rock trio The Stedwells.
